A computer engineer’s beginning salary is above average at about $55,000 per year. Those with a master’s degree make about $60,000 right out of school. The U.S. Department of Labor recently reported this industry’s median salary is $88,470 per year. Like any other industry, salary depends largely on education and experience.

Training:

It is difficult to make it in the computer engineering industry without at least a bachelor’s degree. Courses required for any degree in computer engineering include math, science and computer technology. More specific required classes include software engineering, computer hardware and computer design. Ongoing education is critical in this ever-changing field.
